Your team can choose from 8 GT3 cars and one LMP3 car. We do recommend LMP3 car only for experienced sim racers because they don’t have ABS which makes braking very challenging and they are much faster so they require more precision.
GT3 cars are easier to control and to set up so the racing is usually closer in this class. They have ABS and TC systems which make them much easier to drive compared to the LMP3 prototype. All cars BoP could be updated no later than 2 weeks before the start.
24 Hours of Daytona is a prestigious sports car endurance race held annually at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida. It is run on the Sports Car Course layout, a 3.56-mile (5.73 km) combined road course, utilizing portions of the tri-oval and an infield road course allowing for some strategic drafting and fuel saving.
Generally, it’s an easy and safe track with plenty of runoff areas, so it’s a great place to start your endurance racing experience.
We want to ensure that only responsible teams take to the start line, which is why there are classification requirements.
Requirements for each driver who wants to participate with the GT3 class car:
Requirements for each driver who wants to participate with the LMP3 class car:
If you drive clean laps in practice you will complete the required valid laps requirements faster and also learn how to properly drive in endurance races, where consistent and clean laps are much more important than overall pace.
Divisions will be ordered by the fastest lap from the free practice session. More specifically by an average of the fastest laps set by the team. So if you want to race in the first division which will have live race control and live broadcast make sure you and your teammates put in a good lap in the free practice session of this event. You can see in which division you are currently if you have a Premium subscription.
Qualifying will be split for GT3 and LMP3 cars. It will be the same 45 min session for both car classes. The first 20 min is for GT3 cars, then a short break, and the last 20min is for LMP3 cars.
It’s enough to have one WSS account per team to participate in the race. IT IS NOT mandatory to have at least 2 drivers in a team!
All the teams in the race will have to make 14 (fourteen) Long Pitstops, which will take 3 minutes each. It doesn’t matter if you do a driver swap during the Long Pitstop or not. However, you need to represent a team to participate in this event, even if you will race using one account. Find a team or create a team here.
It is also possible for a team to race from different WSS accounts. You will need to make a minimum 14 (ten) Long Pitstops or do the driver swaps. To race with your team members you need to join or create a team. A maximum of 3 drivers in one team are allowed.
There will be a mandatory briefing for all the drivers participating in 24H OF DAYTONA. All drivers must attend the briefing because we will provide all the necessary information on how to race in 24H OF DAYTONA. After the briefing, there will be a Q&A session that is not mandatory. Briefing starts 1h before the race server starts and will take approximately 15 minutes.
The briefing will be on the World Sim Series WSS-briefing channel.
WSS will reward the podium of each class and drivers of each team in division 1:
