LIVE RACE CONTROL

There will be live race control in Division 1 during the qualifying and the race to issue penalties during the race if necessary for contacts, dangerous driving, and connection issues.

Driver and team categories

  • This special event will have results separated into AM, PRO-AM, and PRO+ (PRO and ALIEN) team categories except MX5 teams.
  • There will be overall results, but the prizes will only be awarded for team categories for both GT and MX5 car classes.
  • MX5 class will not have driver categories.
  • The team's category depends on the registered drivers' categories. The lowest and highest driver licenses of the team drivers determine the team's category in the race:
  • AM driver + AM driver = AM team
  • AM driver + PRO-AM driver = PRO-AM team
  • AM driver + PRO driver = PRO-AM team
  • PRO-AM driver + PRO-AM driver = PRO-AM team
  • PRO-AM driver + PRO driver = PRO team
  • PRO driver + PRO driver = PRO team

CAR CLASSES

Your team can choose from 5 GT-M cars (6th may be added during registration period when released by RSS) and MX5 CUP car. We recommend GT-M cars for more experienced drivers as they are more complex and significantly faster. They come with a manual from RSS how to operate them. MX5 cup car has minimal setup option and is easy to drive fast.

All cars BoP could be updated no later than 2 weeks before the start.

CIRCUIT

Sebring is a historic race being held from 1952 on Sebring International Raceway. The track is very old school: narrow, strange inconsistent cambers and of course the bumpy airbase section. Yes, this track is made on and next to a WW2 airfield. The last and first sections of the race track have a surface like no other - concrete blocks. It’s not uncommon for cars to jump to the outside over the bumps in the corners.

Teams

  • You need to register as a team even if you are the only member of that team.
  • You can create your own team or see the recruiting teams list here.
  • Registration during the last week will be paid.

REQUIRED CLASSIFICATION

We want to ensure that only responsible teams take to the start line, which is why there are classification requirements.

Requirements for each driver who wants to participate with the GT class car:

  • Have an AM or higher driving license.
  • Complete 15 VALID laps with the GT car in the EVENT’S free practice server. Except for PRO+ drivers.
  • Set a faster than 2:04.999 lap time with GT in the event's free practice server.

Requirements for each driver who wants to participate with the MX5 class car:

  • Have a AM or higher driving license.
  • Complete 15 VALID laps with the MX5 Cup car in the EVENT’S free practice server.

If you drive clean laps in practice you will complete the required valid laps requirements faster and also learn how to properly drive in endurance races, where consistent and clean laps are much more important than overall pace.

DIVISIONS

Divisions will be ordered by the fastest lap from the free practice session. More specifically by an average of the fastest laps set by the team. So if you want to race in the first division which will have live race control and live broadcast make sure you and your teammates put in a good lap in the free practice session of this event. You can see in which division you are currently if you have a Premium subscription.

qualifying

Qualifying will be split for GT and MX5 cars. It will be the same 45 min session for both car classes. The first 20 min is for MX5 cars, then a short break, and the last 20min is for GT cars.

ENDURANCE USING ONE ACCOUNT

It’s enough to have one WSS account per team to participate in the race. IT IS NOT mandatory to have at least 2 drivers in a team!

All the teams in the race will have to make 6 (six) Long Pitstops, which will take 3 minutes each. It doesn’t matter if you do a driver swap during the Long Pitstop or not. However, you need to represent a team to participate in this event, even if you will race using one account. Find a team or create a team here.

ENDURANCE USING MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS

It is also possible for a team to race from different WSS accounts. You will need to make a minimum 6 (six) Long Pitstops or do the driver swaps. To race with your team members you need to join or create a team. A maximum of 3 drivers in one team are allowed.

BRIEFING

There will be a mandatory briefing for all the drivers participating in Sebring 12H. All drivers must attend the briefing because we will provide all the necessary information on how to race. After the briefing, there will be a Q&A session that is not mandatory. Briefing starts 1h before the race server starts and will take approximately 15 minutes.

The briefing will be on the World Sim Series WSS-briefing channel.
